PROSPECTIVE Haj pilgrims are currently attending a series of courses, which began on April 22, to help them get acquainted with basic rituals before the start of the pilgrimage season in September.
Yesterday, the Acting Minister of Religious Affairs, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud paid visits to the Pengiran Anak Puteri Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam Religious School in Mulaut and the Lambak Kanan Religious School for a firsthand look at the Haj course.
Meanwhile in Temburong District, the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Haji Harun bin Haji Junid, inspected a Haj course in progress at the Temburong Arabic Preparatory School.
In an interview, Haji Abdullah bin Haji Mohammad, the Acting Director of the Haj Management Department, explained that the course is intended to educate pilgrims on Haj principles (Rukun Haji) and its practical obligations.
He added that the course allows pilgrims to prepare themselves mentally and spiritually before embarking on their journey.
In addition, the classes serve as a medium in channelling information, practical advice and regulations stipulated by the Government of Saudi Arabia, while performing the Haj.
