YAYASAN Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) presented donations totalling B$14,100 yesterday to four families who recently suffered from house fires.
The donations were presented in a ceremony that took place at the Headquarters of Yayasan located at Jalan Kumbang Pasang.
The donations came in the form of financial contributions totalling B$14,100. On hand to present the donations to the families was Haji Brahim bin Haji Ismail, the Managing Director of Yayasan.
The four families each suffered significant damages to their homes as a result of fires and come from villages in three different districts – one each from in Brunei-Muara and Tutong districts and two from Temburong District.
The recipients are as follows: Hajah Zaliha binti Haji Safar from Perumahan Kampong Rimba, Gadong; King Chiew Phang from Kampong Sungai Paku in Tutong District; Anuar bin Abdullah and Norhani binti Mohammad Salleh from Kampong Kenua, Jalan Temada, Temburong District.
In a press statement, Yayasan highlighted that one of the aims of its formation in the field of welfare is to provide care and assistance to those who are less fortunate, including those who are involved in disasters such as house fires.
