DEPUTY Minister of Defence First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohammad Tamit yesterday received a courtesy call from Teodoro Cirilo T Torralba III, the Assistant Secretary for Plans and Programs, Department of National Defence of the Philippines.
Assistant Secretary Torralba served as his country’s Defence Attaché to Brunei Darussalam from 2005 to 2008.
During the call at the Ministry of Defence at the Bolkiah Garrison, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz reaffirmed the mutually close, warm relations between the two defence establishments, which have continuously flourished across a range of extensive interactions. These include cooperative activities under the ambit of the Asean Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM)/ADMM-Plus, exchange of visits, exercises, courses and trainings.
Both sides also exchanged views on regional and international security issues, covering on areas of mutual interest.
Assistant Secretary Torralba also extended an invitation from the Department of National Defence of Philippines to the Ministry of Defence to attend the 11th ADMM and the 4th ADMM-Plus in Manila in October.
