A TOTAL of 291 students from the Tutong and Belait districts received their certificates of participation at the Tutong Sports Complex yesterday, marking the end of the school holiday sports camp for children under 12.
Throughout the three-day sporting programme, 165 students participated in swimming, 53 in badminton, 42 in netball and 31 in athletics, under the supervision of experienced coaches.
The programme is aimed at providing positive sporting experiences for students, while at the same time, providing them with the opportunity to interact with new friends of varying backgrounds and abilities.
On hand to present certificates to the participating students and coaches was Pengiran Suhaimi bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, the Director of the Co-Curriculum Education Department, Ministry of Education.
Also in attendance were senior officials and officers from the department, as well as the parents and guardians of the participating students.
