THE Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) yesterday marked the new Hijrah year with a religious event attended by officials of the PMO and its departments.
Minister at the PMO and Minister of Finance II Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim attended as the guest of honour.
The event included a recitation of verses from Al-Quran and its translation, as well as a special religious lecture on the significance of Hijrah in Islam and how it can also be interpreted as a transformation of minds in the country’s vision.
The lecture titled ‘Migration of the mind towards improvement headed for Vision 2035’ was delivered by Ustaz Hilman bin Haji Salim, the Co-Founder of Al-Minhaa Centre and Adjunct Assistant Lecturer at Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Centre for Islamic Studies at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
