THE second round of the Golden Jubilee Brunei Futsal Cup 2017 is all set after the remaining eight teams booked their spots in the last 16 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex last weekend.

Al Rawda and Arbisyam, who sent two teams, received good news as all four teams ensured a place in the second round as group winners.

Al Rawda FC and Al Rawda FT both took top spots in Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ respectively after accumulating seven points each with the latter keeping a clean sheet in all matches.

Arbisyam ‘B’ and Arbisyam ‘A’ also claimed first place finishes in Group ‘G’ and Group ‘H’ without conceding a single goal.

B-Muda FT, who have been much talked about in the futsal scene, gave more reasons why they are interesting the futsal community after securing their spot as Group ‘B’ runners-up.

MBS United SC only registered one victory in Group ‘A’ but ensured qualification as runners-up after collecting six points and keeping an unbeaten record.

1st Five, Syahkampong and Silveredz boasted experience in the national futsal league but were the biggest casualties after failing to advance to the next round.

The fast improving GG FT reached the last-16 as runners-up only behind group winners Arbisyam ‘B’ due to a slightly inferior goal difference.

There is a ranked outsider in the draw with unfancied E-Playerz FT shocking the experienced Qahar FT after finishing as Group ‘H’ runners-up only behind Arbisyam due to goal difference.

The second round pit Arbisham ‘A’ and Red Butterfly as the pick of the draw in the battle for a place in the quarter-finals.

Matahari ‘B’ will play B-Muda FT while Brunei 88 ‘A’ will play two-time league winners Kota Junior in a potentially titanic clash.

ISC earn a cup tie with MBS United FC while Matahari ‘A’ face tricky Al Rawda FC.

Shah United, who represented Brunei in the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Club Championship in July, will play FFC while Al-Rawda FT will lock horn with E-Playerz FT.

Arbisyam ‘B’ have a tough test against GG FT which conclude the end of the second round draw.

The second round has been scheduled on October 8 and will be playing down to a winner.
