The MoU, which signified the beginning of collaborative initiatives between BAG Networks and UTB, was signed by UTB Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman on behalf of UTB and Haslina binti Haji Mohd Taib on behalf of BAG Networks.
The signing was witnessed by UTB Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Dr Hajah Noor Maya binti Haji Md Salleh and BAG Net-works’ legal advisor Mohammad Hasnalluddin bin Yahya.
The MoU aims to provide UTB students data analytics access including access to industry experts that can help develop the students in their practical understanding of data analytics through research project mentorship and internship programmes.
In an interview with the media, BAG Networks technical consultant Dr Melvin Lim Wee Ming shared that the MoU is a two-way process which will help shape UTB students who are undergoing undergraduate degrees in Data Analytics into becoming data scientists, well-equipped with skill sets and experiences relevant to the immediate needs of the nation and the region.
The MoU will also help them keep up with the latest technological advancements of the data analytics industry.
“UTB and BAG Networks will also share resources, facilities and expertise for industry test beds and product validation, to further develop the data analytics industry in Brunei,” Dr Melvin added.
