A FULL-DRESS rehearsal for Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali’s (UNISSA) 7th Haflut Takharruj or Convocation Ceremony was held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) yesterday. A total of 182 people will receive degrees, diplomas and certificates in various fields.
Present at the rehearsal were Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education and Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs.
This year’s UNISSA convocation will see one PhD graduate, 38 Master’s graduates, 20 Postgraduate Diplomas graduates, 98 Bachelor’s Degree graduates, two Al-Dirasat al-Islamiyyah Higher National Diploma, 12 Barnamij At-Tarqiyyah Enhancement Certificate programme, and 11 in Syariah Crime Justice System Certificate programme.
Master’s recipients include programmes in the field of Usuluddin, Syariah, Law, Arabic Language, History and Islamic Civilisation, Banking and Islamic Finance.
Postgraduate Diploma recipients include programmes in Islamic Law and Syar’ie Court Matters, Usuluddin, Syariah, Arabic Language, History and Islamic Civilisation.
The Bachelor’s Degree recipients included programmes in Usuluddin (Tafsir and Hadith). Usuluddin (Aqidah and Da’wah), Syariah (Fiqh and Usul), Laws and Syariah (Double Degree), Arabic Language, History and Islamic Civilisation, Science in Islamic Finance, and Special Degrees for Memorising 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran.
UNISSA is one of the nation’s premier universities and is a purely Islamic university of international caliber, offering a myriad of academic programmes across different disciplines based on Al-Quran and As-Sunnah.
It is hoped that UNISSA will continue as a true Islamic university and become the shining hope of the nation and country in producing scholars who are highly learned in conventional and religious knowledge.
UNISSA strives to produce Muslim scholars and intellectuals who contribute to the development of the Ummah and the state, in support of the nation’s effort towards becoming a ‘Zikir Nation’ with continuous blessings from Allah the Almighty.
