TO FURTHER promote Chinese education and culture within the country, the family of the late Pehin Datu Temenggong Dato Seri Paduka Lim Teck Hoo has continued the tradition of contributing to Chinese schools and a Chinese chess association for over 20 years.
Continuing the tradition of giving, Dato Paduka Lim Beng Thai yesterday handed out $52,000 in total to eight schools in the Sultanate and the Brunei Chinese Chess Association.
Chung Hwa Middle School, Bandar Seri Begawan received a $20,000 contribution; Chung Ching Middle School in Seria and Chung Hua Middle School in Kuala Belait received $10,000 each; while Chung Hwa School in Labi, Chung Lian School in Sungai Liang, Chung Hwa School in Tutong, Chung Hwa School of Kiudang and Pai Yuek School in Temburong each received $2,000 each, and the Brunei Chinese Chess Association received $2,000.
At Chung Hwa Middle School Bandar Seri Begawan, the contribution was received by YB Ong Tiong Oh, the Chairman of the Board of Director of the school, who is also a Legislative Council member.
