BAIDURI Bank hosted a life seminar themed ‘Future Proof Your Health & Finances’ at Seasons Restaurant, The Centrepoint Gadong yesterday.
The seminar saw the attendance of 150 Baiduri Bank Smart Executive members and their guests, and featured a number of fitness and lifestyle themed activities.
A special segment touching on intensity of exercise and viewing food as fuel was conducted by Michael Mogard, the founder of 673 Gyms in Brunei. He also founded the largest fitness competition in Asia, the Asia Championships.
Meanwhile, LaBai, who is founder of Be-Yoga, the pioneer of hot yoga in Brunei gave a talk and a demonstration about the health benefits of yoga.

Peng Eng Soon, the Head of the Wealth Management Centre, Baiduri Bank said, “Through these fun-filled activities, we educate our customers on the importance of securing financial and lifestyle health – two things that we feel of very much hand in hand.”
Pengiran Azaleen bin Pengiran Dato Haji Mustapha, the Head of Retail Banking and Branch Network of Baiduri Bank attended the event and delivered welcoming remarks.
“We host lifestyle events like this every year, and it has been proven to be popular with our guests,” he said. “But more than the success, it is always very refreshing to collaborate with the movers and shakers of the health and fitness industry in Brunei, and always enjoy learning new things from them.”
“Banking and fitness seem like two unrelated industries. No similarities at all. However, at Baiduri Bank we see it differently. We are strong believers in doing slightly more than the ordinary and aspire to holistic living – specifically, the philosophy that physical health comes hand in hand with financial health.”
“Time and money are needed in both – we need to exercise restraint, employ various strategies – whether for our diet regime or managing our finances,” he added. “Sometimes we need to do things that are difficult like putting aside some emergency cash instead of spending on something that we don’t immediately need or when we say we don’t have time like doing squats while watching TV.”
He highlighted that, in both cases, the positives are to be enjoyed for a long time. “The benefits are obvious. Achieving financial and physical health will result in a peace of mind and a healthy body. That is why we are here today. We like to share with you simple and yet achievable ways of attaining these goals.”
