FOUR award-winning chefs from different parts of Malaysia will be visiting Brunei Darussalam to perform culinary arts in front of massive crowds of the 18th Consumer Fair from May 25 – 29.
Chef Chain Thiaan Fhuang, a gold medallist of the International Golden Chef Cooking Competition 2013 specialises in sugar art and he will have demonstrations and perform molecular gastronomy, a modern style of cooking. Other than that, Chef Chain is also sophisticated at Fruit Carving.
Chef Chan Ki Hong, who is currently a Cooking Instructor for NTV7 Living Delight and also was a cooking Instructor in Good Morning Tai Tai, the Malaysia’s first ever Chinese daily breakfast talk show on NTV7, will be making giant sesame balls and tea fragrance chicken to amaze the public. At such a young age, Chan won the International Young Chef Cooking Chinese Culinary Challenge Bronze Award and many more with great experience of different kinds of cuisine including Japanese, Western, Asian, Fusion and Chinese.
Chef Nelson Kien Seon Khor, the group executive Chef of Semiwa Grill & Bar and Naughty Nuri’s Restaurant Development Consultant, will be featuring Western Food in his demonstration. He will be teaching the public how to cook the best western food at home with sophisticated skills and techniques. The menu throughout the event will be Salisdarn Steak, Smoked Drumsticks Ham and Salmon Cold Pasta to name a few.
Last but not least, Chef Lee Kok Khoon who specialises in the Chinese cuisine of Dim Sum will be preparing Squid Ink Xiao Long Bao and Mushroom Bun. Xiao Long Bao is a type of soup dumpling which is famous around worldwide. It is hardly found in Brunei due to the high complex technique in preparing it.
Halal food will be presented throughout the event.
