THE Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) has cancelled its flights to and from Bali following the temporary closure of the Ngurah Rai International Airport after the eruption of Mount Agung that caused limited visibility for flight operations.

The Brunei national carrier informed yesterday that it has cancelled today’s flight from Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) to Bali and tomorrow’s service from Bali to BSB.

RB had cancelled its flights to and from BSB on Sunday also.

“The safety of our flights and guests is a priority for RB and our team is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates when available,” the airline said.

“In light of the current situation, RB will allow all guests to and from Bali Denpasar to make changes to their travel dates with the following terms and conditions: Waiver will only be applicable for the reissuance fee; changes must be made within three days of the original departure date; for travel within a month; rerouting to other RB network allowed with applicable fare difference, taxes and local admin fee will be waived; refund fully unutilised ticket – allowed as per fare terms and conditions; refund not allowed on residual value except for surcharges or taxes if any.”

The airline said it will not be liable for any third party costs/penalties.

Flights to Bali were cancelled as Indonesian authorities closed the island’s airport and raised the alert on Mount Agung volcano to the highest level, amid fears a significant eruption could be imminent.
