WITH the new school term just two days away, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has presented education assistance to over 1,500 students in the form of school uniforms, workbooks and fee exemption.

The assistance for the year 2018 was distributed through the Miftaahun Najaah Unit of the Department of Schools in a ceremony held at the MoE yesterday.

The ministry’s ‘Miftaahun Najaah Educational Assistance’ scheme aims at alleviating the burden of parents and guardians who are unable to purchase schooling requirements, in hopes of ensuring that all students have access to education and improving students’ academic achievements.

The ceremony saw guest of honour Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education distribute the assistance under the Miftaahun Najaah scheme to representatives from 32 primary schools where a total of 1,522 students will be benefitted.

Also present at the event was Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Education.

Each government school has a committee member for the scheme who is responsible for distributing schooling assistance to deserving students.
