HIS Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, Chairman of the Committee of Governors of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) yesterday graced the Doa Kesyukuran ceremony to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Yayasan.
The ceremony was held at the multi-purpose hall of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital.
Upon arrival, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik was greeted by Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Chairman of Yayasan Board of Directors; Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Vice Chairman 1 of Yayasan Board of Directors and members of the board.
The event commenced with mass Maghrib prayer, followed by mass recitation of Surah Yaasiin, led by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, the Chief Syar’ie Judge, recitation of Doa Kesyukuran to commemorate Yayasan’s 25th anniversary and mass Isyak prayer.
Also in attendance were members of the DANA Board of Trustees, officers and staff members of Yayasan as well as teachers of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah schools.
Yayasan was established with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on October 5, 1992 in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne.
It was established as a charity platform of His Majesty and members of the royal family to provide assistance to those in need as a sign of care and love towards the people aside from helping to build a prosperous and harmonious nation.
