A CULTURAL event was recently hosted at the Silaturrahim Hall of the Youth Centre in the capital featuring performances from members of the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) International Brunei (BERSATU) and a delegation from the Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Arts, Thailand.
The Thai delegation, comprising 20 teachers and students from the Music and Dance Department, Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Arts, was led by college director Dr Kasama Prasongcharoen.
They are in Brunei as part of a cultural exchange Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Arts, Thailand and Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School in Tutong.
Clad in traditional and ethnic attire, the Thai and Brunei performers lit up the evening with colourful cultural dance performances.
In her welcoming speech, BERSATU President Hajah Rosmawatiniah binti PA Haji Ibrahim said it was an honour to be hosting the delegates, as it gave them the chance to experience the rich Thai culture and dances, and that she hopes the cultural collaboration continues.
The Thai delegation arrived in the country on January 9 and will leave today.
Also present at the event were international and national vice presidents, executive members and unit directors of BERSATU, as well as former youth participants of the association.
