A MEMORANDUM of Understanding (MoU) was inked between the Brunei Art Forum and the Korea Fine Arts Association yesterday, ushering in a new era of cultural exchanges between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Korea.
On hand to witness the historic signing at the opening of the Korean Arts Festival were Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Korean Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Cho Won Myung.
The signatories were Brunei Art Forum President Dato Paduka Haji Shofry bin Haji Abdul Ghafor and Korean Fine Arts Association President Lee Bum Hun.
Through the MoU, both associations will cooperate on the creation, research, collection, education, exchange and exhibition of the arts.
In his welcoming remarks, Dato Paduka Haji Shofry said, “We look forward to hosting our own exhibition in Korea in the future. The artistic collaboration will further strengthen people-to-people exchanges between both countries, in line with the government’s policy to enhance Brunei-Korea relations.”
