POLITEKNIK ‘A’ emerged champion in the Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (Maktab Duli) Charity Futsal Tournament after defeating Kemuda Institute 2-0 in the final at the Public Works Department Sports Complex recently.
MD Junior settled for third place after edging Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre 2-1 in a playoff match.
Sixteen teams from various sixth form centres and other higher educational institutions participated in the tournament.
The participating teams included Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College, Kolej IGS, Meragang Sixth Form Centre, Tutong Sixth Form Centre, Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, IBTE Nakhoda Ragam Campus and IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus.
Organised by Maktab Duli’s peer counsellor’s group or PRR (Pembimbing Rakan Remaja), the tournament aimed to raise funds for the college’s Welfare Fund, which will be given to less fortunate students.
In addition, this event aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle and teamwork through sports.
Pengiran Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Halus, Acting Director of Administration and Services at the Ministry of Education presented the prizes.
