IT IS important for youths to have entrepreneurial skills as such skills teach them to be innovative and risk-taking, and also enhance their employability.
This was recently shared by Global Shapers – Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Hub while speaking with the Bulletin.
Global Shapers is an initiative by the World Economic Forum to empower young people in their respective cities to produce positive social impact to the community.
The Global Shapers – BSB Hub is a community founded in 2015, made up of 15 passionate young people from various fields who collectively commit to ‘Empowering Youth Employability’.
Since their founding they have actively engaged youth through their ‘Youth Right Career Path’ initiative, which is a project aimed at supporting youths in finding the right career path by providing exposure to the real world working environment.
Speaking on the current level of entrepreneurship in Brunei in terms of youth participation, Global Shapers – BSB Hub said, “Our engagements at the schools have found that our youths are aware of entrepreneurship as a potential career path and it is obvious that there is an increasing interest in venturing into this field thanks to social media where young people are exposed to the entrepreneurial examples of other opportunities.”
