FOLLOWING the opening ceremony of the 20th Consumer Fair last Wednesday, Goods4u officially launched its line of cleaning products ‘Liquileaf’.
Officiating the launch was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof.
Designed and packed in Brunei, the local brand offers a range of non-toxic, plant-based and nano cleaning solution that includes Liquileaf Glass, Liquileaf Floor, Liquileaf Kitchen, Liquileaf Vision, Liquileaf Aroma and Liquileaf Grease Away.
It is a nano-verified product made from renewable plants and is 100 per cent safe for humans and the environment.
Goods4u is a youth-initiated company that aims to distribute and market their products in retail outlets in the country and hopes to bring in more premium products in the near future.
“We understand that job opportunities are very limited given the current situation in Brunei Darussalam thus in answering the call by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in encouraging youths to be independent and be creative. It drove us to start our own business and create a product and a brand that is local and new to the Brunei market,” said a spokesperson for the company. He added that like any other countries promoting their own local brand, the country needs a local brand as well to promote the country, especially in cleaning products.
The youths who initiated the company are aware that they still have more to learn from other established distributors in Brunei Darussalam and hope to go further and one day to be one of the top distributors of goods not only in Brunei Darussalam but abroad.
The company started seven months ago, focussing on developing products under Liquileaf. The 20th Consumer Fair is a stepping stone for them to officially launch their products and make themselves known to the public.
“So far we have been getting positive responses on the fact there’s a local brand cleaning solution. Since the products are still new and made of plants and vegetables, we understand that people are still getting familiarised with the products on the basis of how it works. Only time will tell. We developed the products in seven months to make sure that the products fulfilled their purpose and safe to use.”
The enterprising youths also hope to increase brand recognition nationally for people-safe solution and gradually penetrate neighbouring countries in Borneo.
“We would like to expand our business by big tender projects, for exportation to international countries, and to outsource our packaging facilities to make our production more cost-efficient.”
