FOUR students from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) under the Faculty of Engineering left the country for Florida, USA yesterday to begin an internship programme with Piper Aircraft, Inc under the UTB Experience PLUS.
According to a UTB press release, this is the fifth cohort of the internship programme since the collaboration between UTB and Piper Aircraft began in 2013.
The shortlisted students for the internship have an excellent academic record at UTB and have undergone a selection process by UTB and Piper.
The students are Muhammad Nur Asyraf bin Mohd Noh; Roffi Ridhwan bin Mohamad; Ummi Hafidzahtun Nadzhira binti Ahmad Suhaimi; and Nurul Hakimah Maisurah binti Ali.
UTB and Piper Aircraft, Inc signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the internship programme on September 4, 2013. Piper Aircraft, Inc is headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida.
A global force in aviation, Piper is an investment of the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Brunei.
The company offers efficient single-engine and twin-engine trainers and personal and business aircraft. Piper is also a member of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association.
Under the MoU with Piper, selected students from UTB will undergo internship with Piper in Florida. This will provide industrial exposure to the students and enhance their practical and industrial experience as part of their undergraduate degree studies.
