THE Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) through its Library Section and Research and Publication Centre yesterday launched its book fair named Ma’rad al-Kutub at the university’s library.

The book fair will be held for three days until tomorrow, from 8am – 4.30pm.

The guest of honour at the launch was the university’s Rector, Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, who highlighted that Ma’rad al-Kutub is a platform for the development of knowledge and motivation for academic excellence in the country and at the same time to inspire the younger generations towards the love of gaining new knowledge.

He hoped to see other activities to be included in the next Ma’rad al-Kutub such as discussions featuring book authors, writing workshops and others.

Dr Haji Norarfan said the launch of the Exchange of Publication Materials between UNISSA and Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) is aimed towards adding to their library collection references relating to teaching, learning and research.
