MAZRAN bin Jamin of Brunei Darussalam teamed up with Younes Ammota of Morocco to win the team relay of the Labuan Duathlon Challenge 2018 at the Labuan Square, Federal Territory of Labuan.
Formed under the team name Victory Squadron and sponsored by Victory Athlete, the duo went through a series of obstacles namely sprint, double 4km runs and a 30km bike expedition.
“This is my first experience in joining the duathlon event which was organised by Labuan Tourism. I’ve been joining only the road and MTB races all this while,” said Mazran in an interview with the Bulletin.
“I was partnered with Younes Ammota from Morocco who is currently living in Brunei,” he continued adding that good communication was a key factor to success.
He believed that the duathlon event such as this would receive a good response in Brunei from both local and international competitors.
The local athlete also provided advice to those who are interested in this field to be more active and at the same time to increase the level of fitness with competitors from neighbouring countries.
Asked about his future plans, he replied, “My plans will be to more active in venturing the field of cycling in the international level not just in in cycling but also in other sports.”
