Programme aims to create e-learning materials

A REGIONAL training programme is currently being held at the Seameo Voctech Centre, until February 15, on the development of online teaching-learning materials.

Dr Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli, the Centre Director for Seameo Voctech, presided at the opening of the programme last Saturday, involving 21 participants from all 10 Asean member states.

The programme will introduce the participants to common phases in e- learning, and enhancing their knowledge and skills in the structuring of online teaching-learning materials.

The course will enable the participants to apply theories in designing digital content; decide the nature of content and select the most appropriate learning object, to promote further knowledge creation; use various learning objects to present the same information in different formats, so that it is easily understood and caters to different learning styles; and identify user-friendly software and technology for development learning material in the chosen format.

The course will also teach the participants how to produce e-content that does not violate copyright issues, selecting open-source, free software; and manage e-learning via software, in order to conduct online teaching-learning instructions in virtual classroom environments.
