HUNDREDS of visitors thronged to the Mini Birds’ Paradise tucked quietly in Jalan Kampong Mata-Mata during the last two weekends.
To accommodate the final weekend visitors’ demands, the organisers had increased the weekend’s capacity to 350 people per day. This is a rare and unique way of having a close encounter with beautiful birds. The Bird’s Aviary is fully air-conditioned to provide a relaxing and cool environment for the visitors.
The Mini Birds’ Paradise Attraction is partly a charity for a Bruneian blind musician, and to raise awareness of a rare Brugada Syndrome (disease), that causes sudden death while a person is sleeping.
In the Birds’ Aviary, there were dozen species birds. Without caging the birds, all birds were free to fly around with other animals in the aviary.
Rabbit, duckling and fish were among animals displayed in the aviary.
Meanwhile, the bird’s species were Rusty Cuckoo, Black Crowned Night Heron, and Zebra Doves. All birds and animals could be fed. “The most fun thing was having the birds sitting on your arms and petting them. This is a great photo experience,” explained Chris Yong – The Birds’ Aviary Coordinator.
Visitors can leave a message to their friends in the Bird’s Aviary too. The visitors can also place and watch the ducks swim in a man-made pond in the aviary.
While waiting for their turn to enter in the Bird’s Aviary, visitors can watch a short live performance by international acclaimed animal show celebrity – the Crocodile Whisperer, “Croc Boy Diony”. He has just completed an Animal Discovery Show Tour in Manila, the Philippines, featured in ABS-CBN, a number one TV network in the Philippines.
Croc Boy Diony will “host” and “educate” the visitors with a collection of animals ranging from eels, gecko, hamsters and others. Among the invited animal guest, visitors can see Celebrity Croc “Cuddles” – which has been photographed by over 5,000 people. Cuddles can “communicate” with the audience and likes to wave his fans.
“Visitors are encouraged to grab their entry coupons as soon as possible, so we can manage the crowd efficiently. Although this attraction is small, it is entertaining for children and whole family.
“It is something different that you can do during the weekend,” said Ratu – the attraction supervisor. The Mini Birds’ Paradise is open from today to February 11 from 9am to 6pm.
