OVER 26 members from the Majlis Taklim Perempuan (MTP) Al Mabruroh, Ikatan Persaudaraan Haji Indonesia (IPHI), Kota Sabang, Aceh, Indonesia, visited Brunei to learn about the culture and history of the country.
A gathering was organised by the Mukim Seria Consultative Council (MPM Seria) at the Seria Office Hall to commemorate their visit. The aim of the event was to establish ties between the IPHI members with Seria residents and to share the culture, and history of both countries.
Silat and Syair performances were also conducted by the Village Consultative Council of Kampong Lorong Tiga Selatan, Seria and Pertiwi Association to enliven the gathering.
The group was led by Hajah Salmiati binti Mahidin, Head of the MTP Al Mabruroh, IPHI and was accompanied by, Haji Badaruddin bin Abdul Manaf, Head of the IPHI, Kota Sabang.
Present to welcome the group was YB Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin, member of the Legislative Council and Penghulu of Mukim Liang.
Also present were Haji Pungut bin Haji Ali, Penghulu of Mukim Kuala Belait; and Haji Saidin bin Haji Ibrahim, Village Head of STKRJ Lorong Tiga Selatan, Seria; as well as the members from the MPM Seria along with the residents of Pekan Seria.
“We are very proud to be here to visit various sights and landmarks in Brunei and learn about the culture and history of the people and the country,” said the Head of the IPHI, Kota Sabang.
“Insya Allah, we will continue to organise group visits like this, not only from Aceh to Brunei, but vice versa,” he concluded.
