THE colourful 34th National Day parade and performances participated by over 20,000 people from 138 teams yesterday received applause from netizens.
One of the participants, Hajah Siti said this year’s performances highlighted the spirit of patriotism and were great to watch, thanking all participants including those behind the curtain. She added that she is looking forward to next year’s performance.
Another participant, Danial said he felt proud to take part in the march-past at the annual event which was divided into 14 clusters, while Syahierra, a netizen, said the performance was creative and in tune with this year’s theme ‘Accomplishing the National Vision’.
“The aerial view of the field performance portraying ‘Allahu Akbar’ and portrait of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was awesome. It’s 100 per cent perfect,” said another netizen.
Social media enthusiasts also saluted the committee members and participants and said it was the best performance ever despite the early morning drizzle around the capital and hoped the Sultanate will be prosperous and harmonious under the guidance of Allah the Almighty.
Radio Television Brunei (RTB) livestream viewers from abroad were also pleased with the performances. Ithnain from Johor commented that it was the best ever performance while Hamzah, also from Malaysia, was enthralled with the beauty and panoramic view of the capital.
Grace from Alberta in Canada said, “Well done to all, especially all students, teachers and choreographers and thanks to RTB for bringing the momentous occasion live to us away from home.”
She added, “His Majesty never fails to show love to his people.”
Over 7,000 participants took part in the field performances.
