THE third Syumul Youth Camp, organised by the Islamic Da’wah Centre’s Youth Unit, Dakwah Dissemination Division, began yesterday at the centre’s Mau’izzah Room, Darul Huda Building.
Forty women, comprising mainly of students from higher educational institutions such as Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali and Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan, as well independent participants joined the three days and two nights programme.
The camp aims to instil a competitive spirit, nurture character empowerment, and foster high-level emotional, spiritual, disciplinary and intellectual qualities within the participants.
Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, the Acting Director of the Islamic Da’wah Centre was the guest of honour for the camp’s opening ceremony. The camp participants will take part in mass Fardhu prayers and visit places of interest.
In his address, Haji Abdul Rajid referred to the wives of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as exemplary role models for the participants to emulate.
He also advised the participants to cover their ‘aurat’ whenever they intend to post their own images on social media and to use these platforms properly in a healthy manner.
The youth camp will come to a close tomorrow, with the closing ceremony held at the Mau’izzah Room, Darul Huda Building, Islamic Da’wah Centre.
