THE Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan will host the 17th Rotary Charity Golf 2018 at the RBA Golf Club on March 25 to raise funds for their local education assistance projects.
The Rotary Club has been playing its part in helping local students to stay in school by providing bursary awards to students up to the tertiary level.
In the past 16 years, the club has contributed in excess of $270,000 to assist local students in Brunei Darussalam.
“Over the last 17 years, we are very proud that we have raised over $270,000 and all these funds will go towards the bursary awards,” said Chris Yong, Organising Chair of the 17th Rotary Charity Golf during a press conference at Mulia Hotel yesterday.
“For example, last year we raised $20,000 and we managed to sponsor 25 students.”
With 1.2 million members worldwide, “the Rotary Club can continue its objective of improving literacy not only throughout Brunei but also internationally”.
“It is the Rotary’s objective to improve literacy around the world,” he said.
The annual tournament will also see attractive prizes including 5 Hole-in-One cash prizes of $10,000 each to be won.
Registration is open to the public but is limited with 90 golfers only. Golfers are advised to register early.
