THE Islamic teachings in the Sultanate and guidance under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, have been lauded by a visiting member from the Songkhla Islamic Religious Council in Thailand.
“This brings peace and prosperity to the nation,” said Assistant Director at Songkhla Islamic Coordination and Affairs Abdul Halim Lateh, on the sidelines of a visit to the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Mentiri yesterday.
The Islamic leadership has brought blessings and development to Brunei Darussalam, he said, adding that, “I am impressed with the implementation of the Islamic law. Muslims in Songkhla should emulate this.”
Meanwhile, Haji Ismail Wang bin Wan Din, Manager of ‘Mahad Nurudin,’ a religious institute, was impressed with the strengthening of Islamic affairs institution in the country, describing it as “very fortunate.”
Acting Director of Mosque Affairs Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri welcomed the 38-member delegation made up of committee members and officers from the Songkhla Islamic Religious Council.
Acting Assistant Director of Mosque Affairs Pengiran Haji Haslin bin Pengiran Haji Ali briefed the delegation on the functions and development of his department.
The delegation is in the country on a three-day visit to foster closer ties and to take a closer look at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque.
