WOLVES became the inaugural winners of the The Ladies Runoff after defeating She Hoops in the final at the Brunei Basketball Association Court in Batu Bersurat last weekend.
Zero came third after beating Red Velvet (RV) in the playoff while individual winners were also awarded with Shing Shing Ho of Wolves acknowledged for her skills and Li Ying of RV for her shooting.
Organised by the Big BWN Project, the ladies basketball tournament was held in conjunction with the International Women’s Day that is celebrated on March 8 annually around the world.
The event was also supported by Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd, Kingston Beverage & Creamery Sdn Bhd, Bake Culture Brunei, BAG Networks Sdn Bhd and Kajal Beauty House.
The one-day tournament sought to encourage people of all walks of life to take part in competitive basketball and to provide an avenue for the underrated players to be able to compete as a team.
The US Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Craig Allen, presented the prizes.
