ROYAL Brunei Police Force (RBPF) received a complaint on its hotline 993 of a fight using a dangerous weapon in the Gerai Muafakat area, Jalan Selayun, Sengkurong.
As the police arrived, the victim was still at the scene and the suspect had left.
Early investigation found that the victim had a minor injury in his hand and the police are investigating two suspects believed to be involved in the fight.
The case is under investigation.
The police also seized two items of evidence: one tyre opener and a one metre steel ruler from the house of suspects.
The case is being investigated under the Criminal Procedure Code of 22, Section 159 Gaduh Gempar that carries a jail sentence of up to three years and a fine, and also under section 324 for injures using a dangerous weapon that carries a jail sentence of up to seven years and even whipping.
RBPF requested the public to provide any information about the incident. RBPF will also take stern action against anyone found breaking the law and disturbing peace.
Members of the public are advised to immediately report such incidents to the Police at 993 or through nearby police stations.
