The honour was conferred upon BIBD for a record sixth consecutive year as part of The Asian Bankers’ ‘Excellence in Retail Financial Services’ award.

Meanwhile, BIBD Managing Director and CEO Mubashar Khokhar said, “Despite challenging market conditions, BIBD’s retail business has continued its forward thrust that has led to us being able to claim the ‘Best Retail Bank in Brunei’ award for a sixth consecutive year.
“We thank our customers and regulators whose support has propelled us forward and has contributed to the progress and development of Brunei Darussalam’s financial services sector.”
The Asian Banker stated that BIBD was commended on its strong presence and largest customer base in the country.
At the same time, BIBD’s various innovative solutions were highlighted as at the forefront of its digital transformation. BIBD’s processes and infrastructure optimisation to increase its banking efficiency and productivity were also cited as other criteria for the award.
