THE Coffee Bean Brunei is working with the Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei for their Toy Donation Drive.

PAR Food and Beverage Managing Director Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Abdul Mun’im bin Pengiran Anak Haji Tahiruddin yesterday launched the campaign at The Coffee Bean Brunei outlet at Times Square Shopping Centre, and presented a bag of toys to SMARTER Brunei President Malai Haji Abdullah bin Malai Haji Othman.

The General Manager of The Coffee Bean (Brunei and East Malaysia) Khairul Nidzam bin Haji Abu Bakar was also in attendance. The Coffee Bean Brunei Senior Marketing Manager Ida Nabila binti Haji Patera said that the campaign is part of the restaurant chain’s ‘Caring Cup’ events, which is centred on giving back to the community.

She expressed her full support for SMARTER Brunei, while urging members of the public to donate any used or new toys for a good cause.

“Bring warmth and happiness by sharing your toys,” she said.

Members of the public are encouraged to drop off used or new toys into the Toy Donation Drive boxes at The Coffee Bean Brunei outlets at Supa Save Mata-Mata, Supa Save Seria, Times Square Shopping Centre in Berakas and The Mall, Gadong, until April 22.

The toys will be donated to SMARTER Brunei, or go on display at its garage sale on April 28-29 at the Brunei Tennis Club in Berakas.

Among the ideal items to contribute are stuffed toys, dolls, toy cars, craft sets, action figures, board games, music players, dress-up sets, building blocks, playdough, educational toys and puzzles.

Members of the public can also donate toys and other items directly to SMARTER Brunei, or call the SMARTER hotline at 7172991 for more details.
