BRIGADIER General Khairul Hamed bin Haji Lampoh, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) made an introductory visit to the Republic of Singapore from April 9-11, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defence of Brunei Darussalam.
Upon arrival at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Singapore, the RBLF Commander was welcomed by Colonel Leung Shing Tai, Commander of 6 Division of the Singapore Armed Forces, and was then invited to inspect the guard of honour, comprising personnel from the Singapore Armed Forces.
The RBLF Commander called on Brigadier General Goh Si Hou, Chief of Army of the Singapore Armed Forces, followed by courtesy calls to Major General Melvyn Ong, the newly appointed Chief of Defence Force of the Singapore Armed Forces and Dr Ng Eng Hen, the Minister for Defence of the Republic of Singapore.
During the calls, both sides commended the special relationship between the two countries, acknowledging the long history of friendship built on trust and cooperation. The sharing of training facilities and cross-attendance of courses between the two armies were especially highlighted during the visit.
The RBLF Commander also visited Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute Military Institute (SAFTI MI) as well as the 4th Singapore Armoured Brigade.
The RBLF Commander’s introductory visit signifies the strong camaraderie between the Royal Brunei Land Force and Singapore Armed Forces, which continues to be strengthened through regular exchange of visits, frequent interactions, bilateral and multilateral exercises, professional exchanges, trainings and courses.
