THE curtains on the four-day Kuala Lumpur International Hijab Fair (KLIHF) was officially raised yesterday by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Hajah Siti Radhiah binti Pengiran Maharaja Lela Sahibul Kahar Pengiran Anak Haji Mohd Yusof and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Wahidah Widadul Bolqiah binti Pengiran Maharaja Lela Sahibul Kahar Pengiran Anak Haji Mohd Yusof, who were the guests of honour at the opening ceremony.
This is the third year and fifth-time running of the KLIHF after notching success last year with total sales collection from the 150 participating vendors reaching RM6.3 million.
M7O Events & Lifestyle Managing Director Mona Din noted in her welcoming remarks that KLIHF, which began in 2014, is paving the way towards the development of exhibition festivals, particularly in the area of Muslimah wear, not only in Malaysia, but also in Brunei.

Following its establishment, exhibition events began to diversify and expand. On this note, she expressed gratitude for KLIHF for paving the way for the creation of strong ties between entrepreneurs and consumers, which is in line with its real objectives of spearheading the Islamic fashion industry through business-to-business and business-to-consumer means.
Set to run at the International Convention Centre in Berakas until June 5, the exhibition offers free entry and boasts 100 booths comprising vendors from Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei.

This includes the participation of several popular celebrities, among them Ustaz Don Danial, Umie Aida, Yatt Hamzah, Heliza Helmi, Lisdawati, Betty Banafe, Mia Suria, bringing with them their respective labels and Raya collection to be showcased at the Celebrity Pavilion.
KLIHF also serves as an excellent platform for fashion entrepreneurs from Malaysia to find a spot and appointment of agent representing their respective labels here. Last year saw many participating labels at KLIHF 2015 successfully penetrating the Brunei market.
KLIHF 2016 Brunei is also offering over 100 Raya wears for free, contributed by KLIHF participants for the lucky draw for expo visitors.
