THE 14th Bilateral Meeting between the Brunei Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) was held yesterday, at the ACB Headquarters in Jalan Pembangunan, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The ACB delegation comprised 15 officers headed by the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Datin Dayang Hajah Elinda binti Haji CA Mohamed in her capacity as the Director of the ACB, while the MACC delegation of 11 officers was headed by Dato’ Simi bin Abdul Ghani, the Senior Director of the Investigation Division at MACC.
The ACB-MACC Bilateral Meeting was first held on July 22, 2002, to further strengthen and enhance the existing close cooperation between both agencies in various aspects such as intelligence, exchange of information, training, good practices and tackling crimes within their jurisdictions.
On May 11, the ACB hosted the 16th Working Group with MACC, along with the 5th Tri-Partite Sports between both agencies and the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) of Singapore.
The Tri-Partite Sports have further strengthened joint collaboration and enhanced networking among the three agencies, in combating and preventing corruption both regionally and internationally.
