TelBru attains ISO 9001:2015 standards accreditation, aims to attract more customers

TELEKOM Brunei Berhad (TelBru) attained ISO 9001:2015 accreditation after much hard work in 2017.

The dedicated and consistent efforts of TelBru staff were acknowledged at TelBru’s Headquarters earlier this week when UK-based certification body British Standards Institution (BSI) completed a recent audit in compliance to ISO9001:2015 standards across the entire company.

This resulted in BSI recommending TelBru for continued certification as TelBru has demonstrated that its Quality Management System (QMS) meets all requirements of the standards.

To gain ISO 9001:2015 accreditations, companies have to demonstrate conformity to a challenging and rewarding set of quality management system requirements. TelBru last year joined an elite group of companies which have achieved and maintained such standards. To put this into context, out of millions of companies around the world, only 1.1 million companies and organisations are certified with ISO 9001 standards, and TelBru is one of them.

This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including an emphasis on customer satisfaction, risk-based thinking, the involvement and commitment of top leadership, the process approach, evidence-based decision making and continual improvement.

TelBru Chief Executive Officer, David Holliday said, “I am very proud of everyone at TelBru whose continual quest for improvement has been rewarded by this acknowledgement of its standards. This is not an easy feat for any company to achieve. Some companies in Brunei have achieved this for a certain aspect of, or a division of, their operation which in itself is a great achievement, but TelBru is the only telecommunications company in Brunei to hold this ISO certification across its entire company and departments, and it says a lot about our people and culture that we have been able to attain this.

“This does not mean to say that TelBru is perfect, of course, but more and more customers are coming to TelBru. I believe our customers, and particularly enterprise customers and those with businesses, appreciate that TelBru meets internationally recognised service-standards and delivers consistent services.”
