PANAGA School donated framed paintings to the antenantal and labour rooms of Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Kuala Belait yesterday to help enliven its premises.
The seven framed paintings was a follow-up to a similar gesture by the school to the hospital earlier this year. Matthew Hunt, Hayley Saunders, and Nina Paul, teachers at the Teraja Campus of Panaga School handed over the frames to hospital ward representatives.
Matthew Hunt in an interview hoped the paintings will help children and parents visiting the hospital feel better.
Each frame comprises four paintings by students, highlighting their creativity and artistic talents. The paintings are hornbill-themed.
Students did their research online and conducted walks around the school compound to take photos of the hornbills.
The paintings were completed over the course of several sessions, said Hunt.
Six similar framed paintings were also hung on the walls of the Panaga Health Centre, Kuala Belait.
Hunt hoped the efforts will continue throughout the school year, as donations such as this will help brighten up the area. “We are also looking into collaborating with other agencies,” he added.
