PERBADANAN Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) yesterday held a presentation of BND3,872,595.83 million in Zakat money to the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB).
The mock cheque was presented by Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Perbadanan TAIB Board of Directors.
On hand to receive the cheque was Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman in his capacity as the President of MUIB.
From January to March this year, the amount of Zakat collected by MUIB was BND636,537.54.
Also present at the event were Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang in his capacity as a member of the Perbadanan TAIB Board of Directors; Acting Secretary of MUIB Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop and Acting Managing Director of Perbadanan TAIB Hajah Noorrafidah binti Sulaiman.
