THE Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) hosted an Iftar with orphans yesterday at Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Madang/Manggis.
Attending the event as guests of honour were Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and Charge d’Affaires at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Brunei Darussalam, Hussain Mohammed M Al-Dajani.
Fifty orphans from areas near the mosque attended the Iftar event, which also saw them receive donations presented by the guests of honour.
In addition, the Charge d’Affaires at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Brunei Darussalam also presented a Waqaf donation of 40 Al-Quran for the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Madang/Manggis.
Also present at yesterday’s event were Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon, a member of Legislative Council and Penghulu of Mukim Berakas ‘B’; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administrative and Financial Affairs) at the MoRA, Roslan bin Haji Taja’ah; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA, Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang; senior officers from the ministry; the Nurul Islam Association; the Tutong District New Converts Association; as well as members of the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque Takmir Committee.
