EGYPTIAN scholar Imam Sheikh Hassan Metwally Abdel Rahman Sewify led hundreds of congregation in performing the nightly Sunnat Tarawikh prayers as the guest Imam at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong last night.
The prayers are being carried out with the cooperation of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Arab Republic of Egypt through the Egypt Awqaf Ministry.
Imam Sheikh Hassan Metwally Abdel Rahman Sewify will lead the nightly Sunnat Tarawikh prayers at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque tonight followed by Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque in Kampong Jerudong tomorrow; Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque in Mukim Sengkurong on June 5; RPN Kampong Lambak Kanan Mosque in Berakas on June 6; Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam Mosque in Sengkarai, Tutong District on June 7; and Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Manggis/Madang on June 8.
He is also scheduled to lead prayers at the RPN Kampong Pandan Mosque in the Belait District on June 9; the Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Serusop on June 10; and the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Mentiri on June 11.
All Muslims are invited to perform the nightly Sunnat Tarawikh prayers at the selected mosques.
