THE Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) held a Khatam Al-Quran for its workforce and handed over donations to 64 orphans of officers and staff at the additional building of the ministry in Berakas yesterday.
The guest of honour was Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, who presented the donations.
The ceremony began with mass Zohor prayer led by Mosque Affairs Officer Ahmad Shafiq bin Haji Osman. This was followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by the minister, while Mosque Affairs officers recited Takhtim.
Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Jumat led the Doa Khatam.
Officers from the Syariah Affairs Department led Dikir Marhaban, followed with the handover of donations. The ceremony ended with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Haji Mohd Yusuf bin Haji Abdul Latif.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar; Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administrative and Financial Affairs) Roslan bin Haji Taja’ah; and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang.
