| Azlan Othman | AUTORITI Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) organised a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan at the Ministry of Finance Building, Commonwealth Drive, Bandar Seri Begawan. Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, in his capacity as Deputy Chairman of AMBD Board of Directors; Minister of Finance II Dato Seri Paduka Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah; members of the AMBD Board of Directors; AMBD officers and staff were present. The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Deputy Chairman of AMBD, followed by the recitation of Al-Quran verses, Takhtim, and Doa Khatam by Muhd Khairul Anwar bin Haji Ahmad. The event also saw the presentation of donation to orphans from Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar.

| Danial Norjidi | THE Ministry of Communications (MinCom) and its departments held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony yesterday at Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Mosque in Kampong Tamoi. The ceremony, organised by the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department, was held as part of efforts to glorify the holy month of Ramadhan. Minister of Communications Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof was present. Permanent Secretary at the MinCom Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad; Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MinCom Dr Haji Supry bin Haji Awang Ladi; heads of departments; as well as senior officials and staff from the ministry and its departments were also present. The ceremony began with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a recitation of Takhtim and Doa Khatam marking the completion of 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran. The event concluded with the hand over of Waqaf by the Minister of Communications to the Imam of the mosque, followed by a mass Asar prayer.

| Lyna Mohamad | KAMPONG Sengkurong ‘A’ Village Con-sultative Council (MPK Sengkurong ‘A’) held a Khatam Al-Quran and a donation presentation ceremony to enliven the holy month of Ramadhan at a residence of MPK Sengkurong ‘A’ member. The guest of honour was Advisor of the MPK Sengkurong ‘A’ Dato Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Latif bin Haji Ibrahim. The council’s former advisor Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Kassim bin Haji Johan was also present. Village Head of Kampong Sengkurong ‘A’ Dr Haji Abdullah Hanif bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Dinda Haji Saman in his welcoming remarks expressed appreciation to those who generously contributed for the village orphans. The ceremony was enlivened with a Dikir performance and concluded with Sungkai.

| Ishan Ibrahim | A KHATAM Al-Quran ceremony was held recently at the Kampong Belimbing Mosque in Subok. The event was organised by the Takmir Committee of Kampong Belimbing Mosque under its Al-Quran Reading Scheme. The guest of honour was Permanent Secretary (Technical and Professional) at the Ministry of Development Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin. Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu Yang Berhormat Naim bin Haji Kamis; Village Head of Kampong Belimbing Haji Gapor @ Haji Md Daud bin Karim; Village Head of Kampong Subok Haji Md Jais bin Md Salleh; and Advisor of Kampong Belimbing Mosque Takmir Committee Dato Haji Mohd Alimin Haji Abdul Wahab were also present. The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Imam Pengiran Haji Hafizudin bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, followed by the recitation of Surah Adh-Dhuhaa to Surah An-Nas by 60 Khatam Al-Quran participants comprising members of youth congregants and Muslimah groups. The event continued with the recitation of Takhtim and the mass recitation of Dikir Marhaban. The event also saw the presentation of donation to 20 orphans and the needy by the guest of honour. The event concluded with the reading of the Doa Selamat by Imam Pengiran Haji Hafizudin.

| Wani Roslan | THE Religious Committee of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), in collaboration with the Student Affairs Division and the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Students Association (PMUBD), held Khatam Al-Quran and Doa Kesyukuran for UBD’s achievement in the renowned Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings at the UBD Mosque yesterday. The guest of honour was the Vice-Chancellor of UBD Datin Dr Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz. The ceremony began with a mass Zohor prayer, followed by Khatam Al-Quran led by the Imam of the UBD Mosque. The ceremony also saw the presentation of donation to 18 recipients including orphans, single mothers and Muallaf of UBD, and handing over of UBD orphans fund to orphans throughout the country.
