Govt, private agencies join hands in building homes for two families

GOVERNMENT agencies and private companies made a joint effort to help repair and renovate dilapidated homes of two underprivileged families in Tutong, through the Baitul ‘Izzah wa ar-Rahmah Project 2018.

The project, a collaboration between Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Cityneon Displays and Construction Sdn Bhd, LSL Metal Sdn Bhd, Islamic Da’wah Centre, and Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, aimed to help repair and renovate the dilapidated homes of the Muallaf community.

The recipients of the project were Masmah binti Tahir in Kampong Tanjong Maya, Tutong, and Muhammad Tajuddin bin Abdullah @ Tanggum anak Jaban at Kampong Kuala Unggar, Tutong.

The guest of honour was member of the Shariah Advisory Body at the BIBD Dr Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani.

The project also strengthened close relations between the government agencies and private parties.

Also present were Head of Government Relations and Special Projects Haji Mohammad Yusri bin Haji Wahsalfelah and Acting Assistant Director of Islamic Da’wah Centre Ustaz Abdul Aziz bin Haji Kahar.
