ADVISER of the Chinese community in the country Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin and President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce (CCC) Malcolm Lim Tiong Han presented BND5,000 to the orphans fund during a ceremony at the Brunei-Muara District Office yesterday.
Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer Mohamad Yassin bin Haji Ahmed received the donation.
Malcolm Lim said the Chinese community will host its Family Day event in September in line with the National Family Day celebration organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Meanwhile in a separate event, Chairman of the Brunei Hokkien Association Lim Han Chiong presented BND10,500 from the association to the charity fund.
Lim Han Chiong said the donation is an annual activity of the association. The Brunei Hokkien Association was established in December 7, 1998. This year marks its 20th anniversary.
