A HARI Raya gathering was held for former students and teachers of Muda Hashim Malay Secondary School Tutong (SMMMHT) – now known as Muda Hashim Secondary School – at the ballroom of Serikandi Restaurant in Kuala Belait yesterday.
Over 50 people who studied and taught at the school from 1976 to 1980 attended the event.
It was aimed at reuniting former students and teachers to bond over the Hari Raya celebrations.
Chairman of the event Mohd Ali bin Haji Sapar said the reunion is organised annually by the same group of students and teachers since 2015, with this year’s being the fourth held.
“This year’s celebration comprised several activities including performances by event committee members, a Best Hari Raya Dress Competition for both male and female attendees as well as a lucky draw,” he added. “Several guests also contributed gifts to the lucky draw prize pool.”
The group previously conducted a Tahlil ceremony during Ramadhan to honour friends and teachers who passed away.
