THE Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman has hailed the Royal Regalia Museum for successfully hosting the exhibition titled ‘His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s visits to the Sultanate of Oman in Portraits’.
The exhibition was organised from March 21 to May 30 at the museum to commemorate His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s visits to Oman in 1984, 1985 and 2009.
The Oman embassy hosted an appreciation luncheon at Gwad Basha Arabian restaurant in acknowledgment of the contribution of the organising committee comprising employees from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the embassy who oversaw the preparation for the successful hosting of the exhibition.
Present as guest of honour during the event was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin. Also present were Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, officials and members of the organising committee.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel bin Rashed bin Hashel Al-Maskari expressed his delight over the success of the commemorative exhibition. “We are glad to be the first embassy to hold an exhibition at the uniquely beautiful Royal Regalia Museum and the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade as guest of honour made it a truly memorable event,” he said.
The ambassador also reserved special words of appreciation to the committee members. “I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the management and employees of Royal Regalia Museum and to my colleagues and staff at the embassy for their hard work and commitment that have contributed significantly to the success of the exhibition.”
The exhibition registered a large turnout of visitors comprising government officials, members of the diplomatic community, academicians and students from several public and private schools and universities. According to the statistics provided by the Royal Regalia Museum, the gallery attracted a total of 27,938 visitors.
