QAF Auto, the sole importer of BMW vehicles in Brunei Darussalam, has become the official transportation provider for the 48th Asean National Tourism Organizations Meetings set to take place next week.

The official handover of 18 all-new BMW X1 Series was held at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) yesterday.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Tourism) at the MPRT Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali received the BMW vehicles from QAF Auto General Manager Sivakumar Krishnan.

The six-day programme includes the 3rd ASEAN Tourism Marketing Partnership Working Group Meeting and the 48th ASEAN National Tourism Organizations (NTOS) Meeting.

The vehicles will be used to ferry the permanent secretaries attending the meeting during their arrival, stay and departure from Brunei Darussalam.

Wardi, elated by the collaboration with the premium car brand, said the arrangements enhance the partnership and understanding between the private sector and the government, catering to the growth of the nation’s tourism sector. He said, “It is very generous of QAF Auto to be the official transportation provider for the 48th Asean National Tourism Organizations Meetings that runs from July 2-5. This is a good example of smart partnership between the government and private sector toward achieving our objectives in developing Brunei as a tourism destination within the ASEAN region. We will be receiving our delegation starting today. The meeting will take place at V-Plaza and we hope that this will give delegates the opportunity to see the attractions in the Belait District.”

Meanwhile, Krishnan noted that QAF Auto is glad to be participating in such a meaningful event and that “BMW works closely with all ASEAN member countries in supporting their events and activities, and looks forward to more.”

The BMW X1 Series is known for being the all-rounder car with advanced safety features and flexible storage compartments. The model suits the demands and has the required facilities which include elevated seating positions that provide the best possible view of the nation, while sporting versatile and dynamic appearance, ensuring comfort and functionality.

QAF Auto has a well-established and trusted reputation in the Sultanate. It has been the official transportation provider for other major events including the APEC Summit in 2000, the ASEAN Summit in 2013 and the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Accession to the Throne, last year.

The BMW group prides itself in providing for different stakeholders in society and pledges to continue strengthening bonds.
