BRUNEI Darussalam Taekwondo Association (BDTA) held its annual Taekwondo instructor course for the year from June 29 to July 1 at the Menglait Sports Complex. Seven registered taekwondo coaches and seven new ones from various clubs all over Brunei participated in the course which was facilitated by Nurul Hannah binti Abdul Mateen Kim, Brunei’s very own national Taekwondo coach.
The objective of the course was to teach and update the new and current instructors on the latest changes in techniques, forms and execution of poomsae (or pattern) for taekwondo, in line with the World Taekwondo (WT) standard. This also provided an opportunity for all the coaches to train together and emphasise the concept of one family within the sport in Brunei.
This is one of BDTA’s initiatives this year to ensure that all taekwondo coaches are able to train and better develop their students with the proper and correct techniques into becoming quality taekwondo practitioners in Brunei.
