BRUNEI men’s team powered to a strong start after recording a 80-63 win against Labuan in the Borneo City Basketball Invitation Tournament at the Brunei Basketball Association Court in Batu Bersurat yesterday.
Brunei captain Choo Yung Jian and Yap Jenn Chyuan both produced a great return of 17 points each.
Meanwhile, the Brunei veteran team defeated Labuan 58-51 and the Brunei women team falling to a 80-27 loss to Miri.
Brunei’s veteran player Ho Hee Lee enjoyed a good outing after leading his team’s points with 17.
Today’s games include Miri facing Kota Kinabalu in the Women category, while Miri and Labuan will contest each other in both the Veteran and Men categories.
Brunei’s men and veteran teams will be fancying their chances of lifting the title when they close their campaign against Miri tomorrow.
